These are bad times for smokers all over the world! That's actually good and bad at the same time. Good because I can enjoy smoke-free bars and cafés without having bad-smelling clothes afterwards. Bad because nothing seems to work anymore without a dash of new regulations. Sometimes I wonder where all the common sense has gone. What has happened to thoughtfulness and politeness? Unfortunately this is true not only for smoking.

My part of Canada has been getting quite strict with smokers. No smoking in any public buildings! More young women smoke than young men. But among older people, men smoke more than women.

I am biased as a non-smoker. Here statistics here mere observation say that women smoke far more than men. Of my close friends no male smokes and almost every female does. It's not the age, because my son tell me the same of his friends...

Thanks. Now I know where to avoid.

I do not know if there are any studies on this, but how each country has gone about the public smoking issue is a fascinating insight into the country's social habits and political culture.

really?! the resto is actually luring the smokers inside!
i just wish they can keep it to themselves. I hate it the when there are these "rude" smokers who would huff and puff everywhere as if you're not even there!
