VP: There are worse ones in Bucharest too – especially in the outer neighborhoods – but I just aimed at showing some average tenement blocks. The boulevard in the picture is rather central.

San Jose Senorita: I think most of the Peace Corps volunteers are dispatched to smaller towns and villages but the people at the headquarters who organize things for the volunteers might live in these apartments. I’m not really sure.

Very interesting! Do the communist apartment buildings have a Lenin or Stalin statue in the courtyard? Ha!

Just on the outside a striking difference between the original building and the refurbished ones. We have seen worse things here…
